Our goal is to reduce pain, minimize the use of habituating medications and maximize the quality of life of people who have acute and/or chronic pain or disability from any congenital or acquired disease or other condition involving the nerves, muscles, joints, or soft tissues, utilizing a modified sports medicine approach.
Neck and Low Back Pain*/Headaches*
Our goal is to relieve pain through comprehensive multidisciplinary, non-surgical management, including medication, physical therapy, therapeutic injections, manipulation, and mental health services.
Orthopaedic Rehabilitation*
Our goal is to maximize patient recovery after trauma or other orthopaedic injury using physical therapy, splinting techniques and exercises, combined with a gradual program of graduated exercises.
Sports and Work Related Injuries*
Our goal is to treat and prevent sports and work-related injuries using non-surgical means, combined with a program of mind and body reconditioning and rehabilitation.
Fibromyalgia* and Myofascial Pain Syndrome*
Our goal is to provide state-of-the-art evaluation and rehabilitation of these very common but under-diagnosed and unrecognized conditions, including the use of trigger point injections, manipulation and mobilization techniques, in the context of a wellness-despite-disability philosophy.
Arthritis and other degenerative disease of joints*
Our goal is to improve flexibility, increase mobility and improved function with exercises and adaptive equipment designed to protect the joints while increasing muscular tone and strength.
Pelvic Pain*
Our goal is to help women or men with confusing pelvic pain syndromes get better control over these conditions, using a multi-disciplinary approach, including physical therapy, mental health counseling and wellness.
Geriatrics*
Our goal is to emphasize the physical, mental and social well-being of the elderly; to prevent injury through exercise and physical fitness; and to improve function and endurance while stressing the importance of maintaining independence as long as possible.
Neuromuscular Rehabilitation including Stroke and other Neuromuscular conditions*
Our goal is to maximize the physical, psychological and vocational potential of patients with disabilities due to a variety of neuromuscular conditions.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Other Nerve Entrapment Syndromes*
Our goal is to diagnose and treat entrapment neuropathies, including carpal tunnel syndrome using non-surgical means; we perform electrodiagnostic studies, including electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies (NCS).
Stress Management* and Wellness*
Our goal is to incorporate relaxation training and other stress management techniques (such as phobic desensitization) to help patients better cope with stress-related illness, and other conditions causing increased physical tension; our philosophy is to sustain wellness through increased coping, using cognitive-behavioral approaches, and increased control over life stresses.
Music Medicine* and Dance Medicine*
Our goal is to help professional musicians or students to better understand the various injuries that occur in musicians and dancers, and to learn better ways of injury prevention, while maintaining a musician’s or dancer’s ability to perform, emphasizing area-specific stretching and strengthening and posture awareness.
Electrodiagnostic Studies (EMG and Nerve Studies)*
The use of electronic testing for detecting abnormalities of muscle, nerve, spinal cord and brain dysfunction.
